Election Information

The date of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election for England and Wales is the 2nd May 2024. The term of office for the PCC is four years. The new term will run from the 9th May 2024 until May 2028. The term of the current PCC runs until 23:59, 8th May 2024.

The overall responsibility for the conduct of the election will sit with the designated Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) for each police force area as set out in the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

The Minister of State of the Cabinet Office has formally designated Blackburn with Darwen Council to provide the appropriate officer (Head of Paid Services) to conduct the 2024 PCC election for the police area of Lancashire.

Ms. Denise Park, Chief Executive Officer, is the Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) and will discharge her duties in accordance with The Police and Crime Commissioner Elections Order 2023. To vote in a Police and Crime Commissioner Election, you must be over 18 and registered to vote. Information on registering to vote can be found on the Electoral Commission’s website.
